More Than a Title. It’s a Life Worth Sharing.

​

For more than two decades, much of my life has been centered around public service and community. My journey began in El Cenizo, Texas, where I grew up and later had the extraordinary opportunity to serve as mayor beginning at just 21 years old. Today, I continue that journey as Webb County Treasurer, working every day with the same belief that has guided me throughout my life: where you come from does not determine how far you can go.

 

But this website is about more than titles, offices, or accomplishments. 

 

It’s about life.

 

It's about the experiences that shape us, the people we meet, the places we discover, the food that brings us together, the conversations that make us think, and the moments—both joyful and difficult—that remind us what really matters.

 

Here, you'll find me in the kitchen, trying recipes and sharing food that connects cultures and people. You'll come along as I travel, discover new places, and experience traditions beyond my own. We'll have conversations through my podcast about life, community, leadership, relationships, challenges, dreams, and probably a few completely unexpected topics along the way.

 

You'll also see something that has always been at the heart of who I am: community.

 

Service has taught me that making a difference doesn't always require a title. Sometimes it means showing up. Sometimes it means helping one person. Sometimes it means speaking up when something isn't right. And sometimes it simply means reminding someone that they aren't walking through life alone.

 

My work with organizations such as the Raul Reyes Stronger Together Breast Cancer Foundation has reinforced that belief—turning compassion into programs that provide food, financial assistance, transportation support, education, and hope to people facing some of life's most difficult moments.
 

And then there's inspiration.

 

I've experienced successes I'm incredibly grateful for, but I've also experienced disappointment, loss, change, and moments that forced me to begin again. I've learned that life doesn't have to be perfect to be meaningful. Sometimes our hardest chapters teach us the most about who we are.

 

So think of this website less as a biography and more as an invitation.

 

An invitation to cook something new. Travel somewhere different. Have meaningful conversations. Serve your community. Laugh a little. Learn something. Dream bigger. And appreciate the people and moments that make life worth living.

 

There's still a lot of my story left to write—and I'm excited to share some of it with you.
